On 9 July 2024, the school grounds were transformed into a celestial wonderland as children embarked on an interstellar adventure during the much-anticipated garden party. This year’s theme, “Exploring the Marvels of the Universe,” captivated young minds with a myriad of activities spread across the three main rooms of the school of which each is dedicated to a different planet: Mars, Saturn, and Neptune.
The adventure began as children delved into the bracelet-making station within the Mars room This was abuzz with creativity as little hands crafted colourful accessories, while the clay salt-making activity allowed them to mould and paint miniature creations to take home.
Next, the Saturn room offered a glimpse into some selections of their achievements in the careful-ly displayed art gallery.
Finally, in the Neptune room, where the children discovered the art of decorating cheesecakes followed by the buffet which was fit for royalty. The wonders of the activities engaged the chil-dren during the day. Overwatched by our guests, parents and guardians whilst the children experi-enced the enchantment of the activities laid out before them.
The celebrations extended beyond the planetary rooms. The Photo Booth within ‘The Hedge’ was a favourite spot, where children donned helmets, costumes and posed with various props, captur-ing memories of their cosmic journey with the mystical themed background.
Face painting transformed young faces into whatever they could imagine, adding a touch of whim-sy to the event. Meanwhile, the Dungeons and Dragons within the Study provided a fantasy-filled escape, where children embarked on quests and adventures in a mystical universe.
Guests revelled in the school’s art gallery, which showcased a stunning display of our pupil’s art-work, each piece reflecting the unique vision and creativity of its young artist. The sensory room offered a tranquil retreat, filled with calming lights, soothing sounds, and tactile experiences, per-fect for children needing a moment of quiet.
Throughout the day, a variety of games kept the excitement levels high but controlled, there was no shortage of fun and laughter. Prizes awaited those who excelled, adding an element of friendly competition.
As the afternoon sun began to wane on the sadly rainy day, Tom, the head teacher, delivered an inspiring speech, praising the children’s enthusiasm and creativity along with staff pulling this event together. The day’s adventures concluded with each child receiving a goody bag filled with treats and a booklet featuring pictures of the planets, ready to be coloured and cherished at home.
The garden party was not just a celebration of the universe but also a testament to the joy of learning and exploration. It was a day where imaginations soared, friendships blossomed, and memories were made.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended and participated in making this day truly out of this world. Your support and enthusiasm made the garden party, albeit mainly inside, an un-forgettable experience for all.
Until next year, keep exploring the stars!
